We had a work in progress session this week with Jonny and
Ceri to see where we are in our project and to give us some ideas. They told me
that instead of just producing work that could be used on shop shutters that I
should think about making posters and maybe some t-shirt designs and try and
produce some work that will help make people want to go to Margate. I was a bit
unsure about this but after the session I gave it some thought and I think it
would be a good idea and is a defiantly something I want to do as one day I would
love to produce t-shirt designs. They also told me to visit a seaside town which is still doing well nowadays like Brighton or Bournemouth which i am looking forward to do.

pointless poster exhibition
Were currently having an
exhibition in soul cellar called pointless posters, where we were asked to
produce a poster about any thing, as it didn’t have to have a meaning or a purpose.
So for my poster I wanted it to relate to my project but at the same time could
be read as a pointless poster. The reason I chose to make it relate to my
current work is that I had the choice to reuse the image in my work if I wanted
to.

trip to london
We had a trip to London to go and get a portfolio as well as
visit a not so well known place in London, and the group I was in visited
Leighton house. In this beautifully decorated building was a selection of paintings
by Winston Churchill. We produced a few on site drawings while here but I'm not
the biggest fan of architectural drawing and it didn’t really relate to my
work. I also didn’t have enough money for a portfolio on me so hope to go to London
again to get one.
my dreamland poster
This was the outcome of using the different types of fonts from the run down shops in Margate to produce a poster. I was happy with the outcome as it was my first screen print i had done since first year. I do think that it need something else in the back ground.

self promotion
For my self
promotion project I decided to do a selection of my Lino prints in a post card
way but larger so each one could be torn off to become an individual poster. I
thought by having it in the style of a post card it related strongly to my
seaside theme.
